Braxton Technologies is seeking a Windows Administration with a focus on VMware and Windows Enterprise support. The position is long-term and stable.

  • Local travel between our downtown and east office (1/2 mile away)
Position Responsibilities 

The System Administrator will support Windows architecture with focus on virtualization including VMware vSAN. Scope includes corporate support as well as individualized R&D program support. 

Tier I (70%) 
  • Support IT tickets real-time as assigned. Examples include but are not limited to the following: troubleshooting wireless connections, resetting user passwords, and identifying printer and phone issues, and setup of email on cellular phones
  • Audio/Visual setup, testing and pre meeting support
  • Setup of new Domain accounts for users
  • Setup and deployment of new PC’s
  • Run and terminate Category 6 cables
  • Other Tier I items as assigned
Tier II (20%).
  • Support issues elevated from Tier I support to include
  • Elevate issues and interface with Braxton’s upper level System and Network Administrators.
  • Performs the role of Systems Administrator for operating systems
  • Admin sign in for download and install of software by end user
  • Assist with larger deployments and upper tier issues.
  • Audit of Domain users, PC’s, company owned hardware and software
  • Create and maintain asset tracking, project status reports and IT issues
  • Cybersecurity monitoring
  • Other Tier II items as assigned
Tier III (10%)
  • Special projects:
    • Cybersecurity vulnerability scanning tool
    • Cybersecurity monitoring and incident mitigation
    • New active directory setup
    • New system architecture support
Facilities (non-IT) Surge Support
  • Occasional facilities support (non-IT) such as assisting with the annual National Space Symposium setup and similar support
Minimum Security Clearance 
  • US Citizenship required
  • The position does not require a DoD Secret clearance to start but will require one for long-term support. Obtaining a DoD clearance is a long-term job requirement.
Required Qualifications and Skills 
  • Effective communicator who is able to provide unparalleled support in person, by e-mail, and on the phone
  • Windows System Administration in an Enterprise environment
  • VMware
  • VMware vSAN
  • System backup and restoration
  • Cybersecurity hardening and performance monitoring
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to install cabling on a ladder
Education and Training Required: 
  • Associates Degree
  • Windows, Linux, Networking Certifications
Years of Experience : Minimum previous experience required for performing duties of job. 
  • Entry to mid
Desired Qualifications and Skills 
  • Kaseya VSA (IT Management System)
  • Scripting (Python, PERL, batch)
  • Linux System Administration
  • Cisco Networking
  • ​Veeam
